With the UK cinematic release of Akira in 4K, it seemed fitting to briefly talk about the original motion picture soundtrack. Kicking the week off by playing the OLDBOY soundtrack. Released by Invada Records on a limited pressing, the soundtrack to this masterpiece of Korean cinema has a wonderfully rich orchestral score by Jo Yeong-wook, which aptly captures the drama in this story. You can look up Jo Yeong-wook's other works and see the diversity of the films that he has scored. The release was exec produced by Nicolas Winding Refn with new artwork from Laurent Durieux. Sadly sold out now on the Invada site but you could probably dig around online to find copies being sold elsewhere.
