DRIVE MY CAR (2021) directed by Ryûsuke Hamaguchi is a Japanese drama based on the short story by Haruki Murakami.
Following the untimely death of his wife, Tokyo theatre actor and Yûsuke Kafuku (Hidetoshi Nishijima) employs chauffeur Misaki Watari (Tôko Miura) to drive him to a festival in Hiroshima where he is scheduled to helm a new production of Chekhov's 'Uncle Vanya'. On their journey Yûsuke shares tales of his personal suffering and the pair form an unlikely bond.
