The Handmaiden (blu ray) Special Edition

Other than OLDBOY this is perhaps the most acclaimed of Park Chan wook movies.

An intricate erotic revenge thriller set in Japanese-occupied Korea in the 1930s with an all-star cast of Ha Jung-woo, Kim Tae-ri and Kim Min-hee.

The film follows a Korean handmaiden hired to wait on a Japanese heiress who lives a secluded life on a lavish estate; the story evolves with ever elaborate plots and twists with the tension increasing slowly throughout the film.

This 2-disc special edition boxset comes with a beautifully designed slipcover and two versions of the film: the 144 minute Theatrical Cut and the 168 minute Extended Cut.

THE HANDMAIDEN (2016) is based on Sarah Waters' novel FINGERSMITH and stars Kim Min-hee, Kim Tae-ri, Ha Jung-woo and Cho Jin-woong. It competed for the Palme d'Or at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival and won the BAFTA for Best Film Not in the English Language. Extras include an interview with the director, the making of THE HANDMAIDEN, a Cannes premiere featurette and cast interviews. Korean with English subtitles, Region B. Also available as a standard Blu-ray edition.
