I ordered this movie last year from Terracotta and it was love at first sight.

Rewatched it last night and it still holds up. A lovely independent movie about time travelling, it is made with love, care and really well thought out.

Please to make sure to watch "River" and "Summertime Machine Blues" as well!

I didn't buy this from Terracotta, but when I saw that this great film had only one two-star review from someone who simply the wrong product, I had to try to balance it out!

A Tale of Sorrow and Sadness is an outstanding experience, and one of my favorite Suzuki films, absolutely up there with Branded to Kill et al. AToSaS moves from quirky to sinister before you realize it, drawing you into a specific and believable world you wouldn't expect to find in a Suzuki film. If you've enjoyed any of his other work, buy with confidence!

This has a great selection of Oshima's movies that show the wide spectrum of his work. The extras are brilliant, with knowledgeable contributors, and informative programmes. The booklet is extensive with interviews, essays and plenty of photos (although I wish they would have labelled the photos). This one is a keeper. Fantastic.
