The police force has been privatised and self-harming has become so casual that advertising is often specially geared to the 'cutter' demographic, the film tells the story of Ruka (Eihi Shiina, AUDITION), a samurai sword-wielding young woman on a mission to avenge the assassination of her father.

Extreme violence, dismemberment, beheadings and outpourings of blood ensue as Ruka fearlessly throws herself into her gore-splattered mission.
