In JAPAN ORGANISED CRIME BOSS (1969) directed by Kinji Fukasaku, yakuza factions from Tokyo and Osaka battle over control of Yokohama, using local gangs as their proxies. Amid this violent struggle,

Tsukamoto (Koji Tsuruta, Big Time Gambling Boss) is released after an eight-year prison sentence only to find that the people pulling the strings behind the conflict have political connections at the highest level.

A predecessor to and blueprint for Fukasaku’s landmark Sympathy for the Underdog, JAPAN ORGANISED CRIME BOSS is a lean, cynical, and sharply crafted yakuza thriller. Presented here in a new 4K restoration by Toei Company.
