FAQs
Shortly after its release in Japan, Shark Skin Man and Peach Hip Girl wowed audiences around the world at various festivals. This was due to its genre bending characters, twisty story, and bold visuals - including a stylish sequence introducing the characters. Find it on YouTube, and try to resist watching the film afterwards. Director Ishii has been interviewed several times about how Tarantino was so enamoured with this film, that Ishii was eventually asked to animate O-Ren's flashback in Kill Bill Vol.1. So, if you are charting a map of Tarantino's East Asian influences, get this film watched and part of your collection, if you have not done so already.
