In a separate but mirrored narrative, her former lover, a married policeman named Jaewan, makes the same journey with a male friend shortly afterward.

Hong Sang-soo's second feature unfolds with deceptive casualness — long drinking sessions, aimless conversation, fleeting encounters — yet beneath the surface lies a precise architecture of coincidence, missed connection, and emotional evasion.
