Lau Kar Leung directs this wonderful Shaw Brothers film taking folk-hero Wong Fei Hung as the inspiration, and as ever, depicts training and fight sequences with a blend of realism and style (the director himself is a Hung Gar master)

Martial Club sees the Young Master Wong Fei Hung team up with a local rival school to fend off threats from an aggressive northern kung fu school.

Starring also Kara Hui (My Young Auntie, The Eight Diagram Pole Fighter) and Robert Mak (Ten Tigers of Kwangtung) the film has a lavish array of set pieces including lion dance face offs and tea house brawls - Shaw Brothers at it's best!
