THE EAGLE SHOOTING HEROES (1993) is an action comedy directed by Jeffrey Lau (A CHINESE ODYSSEY) and a parody of THE LEGEND OF THE CONDOR HEROES, a novel which has been turned into many TV series versions, an animation series and various films, notably Wong Kar Wai's ASHES OF TIME.
Made for Chinese New Year with a suitably stellar cast of Hong Kong actors for such an occasion (in fact, many of whom were also in ASHES OF TIME), THE EAGLE SHOOTING HEROES has the blend of Stephen Chow's "mo lei tau" humour and Hong Kong wuxia action.
