A Limited Edition three-disc blu-ray of three films with Sammo Hung: THE MANCHU BOXER, PAPER MARRIAGE and SHANGHAI, SHANGHAI.

As the 1970s came to a close, a new generation of martial arts stars rose to the top of Hong Kong cinema. Amongst them were Yuen Biao, Jackie Chan and the irrepressible Sammo Hung, who found fame as the director and star of THE IRON FISTED MONK, THE MAGNIFICENT BUTCHER and ENCOUNTER OF THE SPOOKY KIND.

Sammo Hung’s enormous range and his rise from supporting player to top-billed star is charted here in this boxset with booklet and exclusive bonus disc with the extended international versions of THE MANCHU BOXER and SHANGHAI SHANGHAI.

THE MANCHU BOXER (1974)

In 1900s China, a righteous fighter (Tony Lau Wing) faces ruthless Manchu soldiers and corrupt officials when his village is terrorized.

Trained in traditional boxing, he rallies locals, confronts Japanese and Manchu foes, and battles personal loss to avenge his family.

Gritty choreography from Sammo who also plays the villain, and his early martial artistry power the revenge drama.

PAPER MARRIAGE (1988)

A washed-up Chinese boxer in North America agrees to a sham 'paper marriage' with a Hong Kong woman seeking citizenship.

Their transactional union spirals into comedy, boxing matches, and schemes as they confront con artists, cultural clashes and loyalty.

Sammo Hung and Maggie Cheung spark warmth amid action and humour.

SHANGHAI, SHANGHAI (1990)

Set in 1930s Shanghai, two brothers (Sammo Hung, Yuen Bio) one an idealistic acrobat and the other a principled policeman, navigate crime, corruption and gang warfare.

When a ruthless mastermind threatens the city and their family, the brothers unite with performers and allies to expose conspiracies, deliver acrobatic combat, and reclaim honour. Starring also Anita Mui.
