Several of the Kindaichi novels by Yokomizi Seishi have been available in the UK for a few years now but I was really pleased to finally get hold of this classic film version of one of them. A great package from Radiance, it's brilliant just to have this film available with English subtitles but the extras are really interesting too. Also it's always great to have more Ichikawa available in the UK. The soundtrack on this film is really interesting so again great to have this in a high quality presentation. I hope maybe a few more of Ichikawa's Kindaichi films will get a release at some point. As always, great service from Terracotta too!!

Was great to see a double bluray boxset of these two excellent films. Cynthia rothrock is kick ass and these films showcase her immense talent. Superb quality with no playback issues or sound problems. Definitely a good buy :)
I didn’t expect this: two films that really got under my skin with their directness and bleakness. I don’t want to say much about the content—the descriptions provided here are spot-on, and any further words would be too much.
You have to be willing to engage with them—both films drag a bit in places—but they offer an unvarnished glimpse into a Japanese reality that some people, I’m afraid, are unaware of or simply don’t want to imagine.
Realistic and harsh—no prisoners are taken here!

Absolutely storming release of my favourite John Woo film. Having owned numerous varying quality tapes and discs of a number of the different cuts, this is, without a doubt the definitive edition. You get the theatrical edit and many of the other scenes and the boardroom ending as extras, and on the second disc (exclusove to the limited edition?) you get numerous variants of ‘The Festival Cut’ with and without the boardroom ending and several scenes that were exclusive to the theatrical cut. There’s a third disc with what seems to be all the extras from the old HKL dvd and a whole bunch of modern interviews, etc.

Heartfelt character dramas will always be told as stories, in films and other media. Sadly, the chanbara style of stories, particularly in film and TV, are in a slow decline in Japan. And this film laments that, but in a wonderful way. Any fan of samurai films is bound to love this film, in my opinion, as it respects both the genre and the work that goes into making the films. Uzumasa Limelight will leave you hoping that Japan never stops making these films and TV shows, for the sake of the fans and their crew members. And don't get hung up on it being a loose remake of Charlie Chaplin's Limelight. Remakes can sometimes work, and this is one of the best I've ever seen.

Box sets once again arrived in perfect condition, due to the excellent work from the Terracotta packing department. Parcel did take a nasty knock on it’s way from the UK, but goods remained pristine inside, due to the extra care taken by Terracotta. What an amazing release. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I’d see John Woo’s “Bullet in the Head” looking this good. Top job by Arrow for making this possible. Absolutely Brilliant! Thank you again Terracotta!
